Yap Boon Jhoe
Yap Boon Jhoe, the Managing Partner of KNT, is an accomplished advocate specialising in civil litigation, with a primary focus on disputes involving contracts, construction, landlord & tenant, energy supply (TNB matters), employment, enforcement proceedings, and estate matters. He is also well versed in family law and criminal litigation.
In 2014, Jhoe graduated with a LLB (Hons.) from the University of Liverpool and was later called to the English Bar (Middle Temple) in 2016 and the Malaysian Bar in 2018. After two years into legal practice, Jhoe furthered his studies in Master of Commercial Law and was conferred LL.M by the University of Malaya (UM) in 2023.
Jhoe has been labelled a ‘loyalist’ to KNT. Upon completion of his internship and pupillage with the firm from 2015 to 2017, he was retained as a Legal Associate in 2018. In November 2022, he was passed the baton of becoming the firm’s third Managing Partner since its inception in 1984.

Recognised for his foresight and ability to think outside the box, Jhoe is known for analysing legal problems from unique angles. As a result, Jhoe has earned himself an impressive winning track record, making him a respected figure in and out of the courtroom.
Outside of law, Jhoe is actively involved in sports. He competes in running and swimming for the State Bar team and has completed numerous Olympic distance triathlons, a multi-discipline sport that combines swimming, cycling and running.
